February Meeting Notes

News from Wednesday’s Meeting:

At last night’s meeting, we found out that there have been some changes with PBCLE.

We found out that Laurie Kortowich has stepped down as the Board president. We are sad to see her go, but happy that she has found a job she loves in her position with Engine 2. Engine 2 is so fortunate to get all her creativity and energy that we have enjoyed the last few years. Laurie has been so successful with the position that she has been given more and more responsibility and she felt her time to lead our group would be limited. So, we say THANK YOU Laurie! And wish her Good Luck! She plans to still be involved in an advisory role with PBCLE.

Rob Hawkins will take over as the President with John FitzGerald taking over the Vice President duties. Rob and John announced the following new Board members:
Joyce Hale, Secretary
Darlene Kelbach, Treasurer
Brian Hart, Board Member-at-Large

Here are some of the things PBCLE has in the works right now:
1.) We will be resubmitting our paperwork for 501c3 designation
2.) We want to get the meetings back on a regular schedule. We also want to publish, dates, locations, topics and speakers at least 3 months ahead of time.
a. MARCH Meeting – March 30th in Westlake
b. APRIL Meeting – April 19th at 6:30 pm in Mentor
3.) We need to plan our ideas for VegFest on June 3rd in Cleveland
4.) We want to do more screenings, panel discussions, and other educational activities
5.) We need to increase our fundraising
6.) Rob discussed some of his plans for “ World Domination”……. More at later meetings
