FREE NUTRITION LECTURE

FREE Nutrition Lecture – Plant-Based Diet: Key Ingredient for Personal and Planetary Health

Description:
A Free Nutrition Lecture: Plant-Based Diet: Key Ingredient for Personal and Planetary Health

Eating a diet consisting entirely of whole, unrefined plant foods may be the best way humanity has to support excellent health, not only of our species, but the ecosystems of the entire planet. Because many chronic diseases (obesity, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc.) are revealed in so many different ways, it may seem that they all have different causes.

Join Mladen Golubic, MD, PhD to learn why these chronic diseases, the most severe challenge of modern medicine, may be the manifestation of just one nutritional illness, a diet deficient in plant foods. Reversing that nutritional deficiency in our species may also be the best remedy for our planet in distress.

Thank You !

We would like to thank everyone who was in attendance at our brainstorming meeting this past Thursday. There was great energy and a lot of great ideas and discussion.

PBCLE exists for everyone and we will update you with the plans for moving forward and the projects we voted on at the meeting. We will need everyone’s help to continue to carry out the mission of our group.

We hope that even if you weren’t at the meeting that you will help us spread the word and bring the benefits of a WFPB lifestyle to everyone.

Be watching for committee sign ups coming soon!
Thanks again to everyone for your support!!

Please consider making a Donation to Plant-Based CLE

PlantBasedCLE is off and running in 2017! We have lots of plans to promote our mission to provide educational opportunities, resources, and support to anyone who is currently following or interested in transitioning to the Whole-Food, Plant Based (WFPB) way of eating (also avoiding added oils.)

To get the ball rolling, we are reaching out to our plant-based community for some funding as we file to be certified as a 501c3. At this point, since we are not yet a 501c3, all donations made would not be tax deductible.

As well, we are hoping to be able to raise funds so that we can participate fully and effectively in VegFest 2017 in June, promote a film screening and panel discussion of the documentary “What the Health?”, and purchase merchandise that we can sell to help us raise money for future events.

We would appreciate any donation you feel comfortable making. Or, please consider the following:

Seedling Level: $ 15.00 donation

Sprout Level: $ 25.00 donation

Leafy Kale Level: $35.00

Plant-Based Warrior Level: $ 50.00 donation

You can make donations in 2 ways:

1.) Clicking on the Donate button at the bottom of this post and donating through PayPal or with a credit card

2.) Personal check made out to Plant Based CLE and bring to a meeting or mail to:
Plant-Based CLE
667 Bishop Road
Highland Heights, OH 44143

Again, until we get 501c3 certification, any donation is NOT tax deductible. We are very appreciative of your consideration and any contribution to help us promote our message.

We look forward to seeing you at a meeting soon.

Thanks!

February Meeting Notes

News from Wednesday’s Meeting:

At last night’s meeting, we found out that there have been some changes with PBCLE.

We found out that Laurie Kortowich has stepped down as the Board president. We are sad to see her go, but happy that she has found a job she loves in her position with Engine 2. Engine 2 is so fortunate to get all her creativity and energy that we have enjoyed the last few years. Laurie has been so successful with the position that she has been given more and more responsibility and she felt her time to lead our group would be limited. So, we say THANK YOU Laurie! And wish her Good Luck! She plans to still be involved in an advisory role with PBCLE.

Rob Hawkins will take over as the President with John FitzGerald taking over the Vice President duties. Rob and John announced the following new Board members:
Joyce Hale, Secretary
Darlene Kelbach, Treasurer
Brian Hart, Board Member-at-Large

Here are some of the things PBCLE has in the works right now:
1.) We will be resubmitting our paperwork for 501c3 designation
2.) We want to get the meetings back on a regular schedule. We also want to publish, dates, locations, topics and speakers at least 3 months ahead of time.
a. MARCH Meeting – March 30th in Westlake
b. APRIL Meeting – April 19th at 6:30 pm in Mentor
3.) We need to plan our ideas for VegFest on June 3rd in Cleveland
4.) We want to do more screenings, panel discussions, and other educational activities
5.) We need to increase our fundraising
6.) Rob discussed some of his plans for “ World Domination”……. More at later meetings

What all members of our group can do:
a.) Continue to stay active and participate in our Facebook Discussion Group
b.) Attend our monthly meetings regularly
c.) Participate in our brainstorming meeting
i. we really want everyone’s input on what you want to see from being             a member of PBCLE and how you want this group to grow.
ii. We will be having a great brainstorming session at our March meeting in Westlake on MARCH 30th
iii. We’d love to have a big crowd at the meeting to hear your thoughts!
d.) Send us your ideas, thoughts, and success stories. Send to Rob at rbh@neohawk.org
e.) Be willing to volunteer when we have events
